Cascade privacy policy

Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]

Cascade ("the app") is a word puzzle game made by Turmeriq Labs LLP, India ("we", "us"). In short: the app has no account, we don't collect your personal data ourselves, and your progress stays on your phone. The app shows occasional ads between puzzles, provided by Google AdMob, which collects some device data as described below.

What stays on your phone

Your puzzle progress, points, streak and settings (language, theme and tile colours) are saved only on your phone. We never receive them. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in your phone's settings, deletes them.

What the app sends

Downloading puzzles

When you open the app, it downloads the current puzzle list from our web host so new puzzles arrive without an app update. Like any website, the host receives your phone's IP address and basic request details (such as the time) in its normal server logs. The request contains nothing about you or your progress, and we don't use these logs to identify you.

Feedback

If you choose Settings → Send feedback, the app opens your own email app with a message to us. It fills in the app version, your phone's make and model, its operating system version and the app's language, so we can help; you can see and remove these before sending. We receive your email address and whatever you send, and use them only to reply and to improve the app.

Ads

Cascade is free and shows an occasional full-screen ad between puzzles, never in the middle of one. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's ad software in the app collects and receives information such as your device's advertising ID, approximate location derived from your IP address, how you interact with ads and the app, and technical data about your device. Google uses this under its own policies; we don't receive it in a form that identifies you.

If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you get non-personalised ads if you don't agree. Elsewhere you can limit ad personalisation or reset your advertising ID in your phone's settings (on Android: Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Security & privacy → Privacy → Ads). Only ads suitable for a general audience are requested.

Ratings

After you've solved a few puzzles, the app may show Google Play's (or Apple's) own rating dialog. Ratings and reviews are handled by Google or Apple under their privacy policies.

What we don't do

Service providers

We may disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Feedback emails are kept as long as needed to answer them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Our host's request logs are kept for the host's standard period. Everything else is on your phone, under your control.

Your rights and choices

Age requirement

Cascade is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe a child has emailed us, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, for example if we add features that need your data, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they apply.
